Contracts Manager
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to help win and manage new contracts. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, be organised and possess strong maths and IT skills. A keen knowledge, understanding and interest in construction, ground works and garden design are essential. You will also need good problem-solving skills and previous experience working with these types of contracts.
Work Activities
As a Contracts manager with Summit Landscapes, you will be responsible for multiple contracts - all at different stages of construction. You will be the main point of contact for clients, site foremen, surveyors and sub-contractors. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Client visits setting out the jobs
  • Work planning and scheduling
  • Briefing project teams and contractors
  • Agreeing any additional work with the client
  • Resolving disputes
  • Identifying  areas of improvement
Requirements
Experience working with groundworks or landscaping contracts. If you have project management experience from other industries, we may have a position as a Contracts Assistant.
Skills, interests and qualities you will need
  • A good knowledge and understanding of groundworks and issues including building regulations and planning
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects

Salary
Basic salary £30,000-£35,000, plus commission (plus generous bonus scheme)
40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, plus extra as required. Office-based with regular site and client visits.

Designer
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experienced Designer to help win new contracts. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have a keen knowledge, understanding and interest in garden design. You will also need excellent plant knowledge and experience of hard landscaping and how the two work together.
Work Activities
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Client site visits and consultation with the sales staff
  • Work planning and drawings – basic or advanced
  • Briefing project teams
  • Putting together and setting out plant schemes
  • Some sales visits during peak periods
Requirements
Experience working with grounds works or landscaping projects.
Skills, interests and qualities you will need
  • A good knowledge and understanding of groundworks and issues including building regulations and planning
  • Excellent plant knowledge
  • Excellent landscape product knowledge is essential
  • Awareness of all current trends and industry advances
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good organisational skills

Landscape Gardener
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experienced Landscape Gardener to help win new contracts. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have a keen knowledge, understanding and interest in garden design. You will also need excellent plant knowledge and experience of soft and hard landscaping and how the two work together.
Work Activities
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Client site visits and consultation with the sales staff
  • Work planning and scheduling
  • Briefing project teams
  • Putting together and setting out plant schemes
Requirements
Experience working with grounds works or landscaping projects. Experience in paving, decking, fencing, turfing, garden structures, ground works and understanding and implementing design.

Maintenance Handyman
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experience Maintenance Handyman to do various jobs around the office and/or assist in the work on site to ensure the jobs run smoothly.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator. You will need to have general landscaping experience, carpentry knowledge and previous experience in maintenance and planning your own work schedule.
Work Activities
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting when requires on sites
  • Attending to any snag items
  • Picking up and delivering materials when required
Requirements
Several years working within the general maintenance field.

  • A good knowledge and understanding of groundworks
  • Carpentry skills
  • Be presentable and a clear communicator when dealing with clients

Landscape Foreman
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman to assist in the managing of work and teams. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team, a strong working knowledge and interest in landscaping, construction, groundworks, garden design and be an excellent communicator.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Supervision of landscape teams
  • Client visits and consultation with sales staff
  • Briefing project teams
  • Work planning and scheduling
  • Putting together and planting plant schemes
Requirements
  • At least 5 years experience as a Foreman
  • Experience in managing a team

  • Experience in paving, fencing, decking, turfing, garden structures, ground works
  • Understanding and implementing design

Landscape Labourer
Summit Landscapes are looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman to assist in the managing of work and teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced landscape labourer with a strong working knowledge and interest in landscaping, construction, groundworks, garden design and be an excellent communicator.
You will be expected to consistently deliver the landscape requirements outlined by the Site Manager/Foreman. Due to the nature of the business, this role is physically demanding and you will be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work Activities
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering a high quality of workmanship covering all aspects of hard and soft landscaping, groundworks and fencing
  • Digging, rotavating, planting, mulching, paving and other related tasks
  • Providing a responsive and professional service to our customers
  • Dealing promptly with issues arising and escalating them immediately to site Foreman
Requirements
  • 2 years labouring experience
Skills, interests and qualities you will need
  • Experience working in a similar environment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
Salary
Basic salary £9 per hour.

Groundworker & Digger Driver
Summit Landscapes are currently looking for an experienced Groundworker & Digger Driver. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge and interest in ground work and have experience in digger/dumper driving.
Requirements
  • Several years’ experience driving a digger
  • Driving licence
  • CSCS / CPCS
Skills, interests and qualities you will need
  • Several years’ experience as a digger driver
  • CSCS card required
  • You must be able to work alone, as part of a team efficiently and to a high standard
Salary
Basic salary £130 per day.
